Thursday afternoon forecast: cool air will arrive over the weekend

One front has passed, and the other is on its way. After the second boundary, you will feel a colder temperature.

The next 24 hours: overnight, the sky will continue to clear from northwest to southeast. Due to its lightness, the northeast wind lowered the dew point temperature from the 1950s to the 1940s, and the air temperature will bottom out in the early 1940s. There will be plenty of sunshine around Friday. The temperature will reach the mid-1970s and will be seasonally mild. The second cold front in many days will enter in the evening. It will be hard to notice ahead, with only some passing clouds. As the wind moves to the northwest, the temperature will drop from more than 60 degrees in the evening to more than 40 degrees on Saturday morning.

?? check it out! On Thursday morning, someone saw an arc-shaped cloud moving to the #BatonRouge area. These are usually formed by the shallow flow of cold air formed by the sea breeze and the front. Shelf clouds and cirrus clouds are both types of arc clouds. #LaWX ?? Credit-Mark Holder pic.twitter.com/xYKPzAVTAE

Next: Cool air will usher in the weekend. Although the sun is shining, the high temperature in the afternoon may hardly exceed 60 degrees. Fortunately, the wind shouldn't be too big. If you are going to Louisiana State University or a Southern football game, be sure to wear a few more layers. Under a clear sky, the thermometer will eventually fall from the 1950s to the 40s. The coldest temperature so far this season is expected to reach more than 30 degrees on Sunday morning. Another weak cold front will cause the high to remain in the 1960s through Monday. Mild temperatures and dry conditions will continue until another front comes next Thursday or so. Click here to view the full 7-day forecast.

Tropical areas: A large area of low pressure hundreds of miles southeast of Newfoundland has been producing large areas of showers, winds close to hurricane strength, and dangerous oceans in parts of the north-central Atlantic. Although it has an unprecedented chance of forming on cold water on Friday, it is only 10%, but it will still be a powerful storm on the high seas. Explanation: When one front is passed, the area will now have a short hold mode until the second front arrives on Friday. A large upper trough of low pressure is advancing toward the southeastern United States, and Friday’s trailing disturbance will dig the trough further south. This will cause an enhanced cold front to pass through. As the first front washed away the water in the area, the second front will have very little precipitation (if any). The temperature will not deviate from the most recent level before the arrival of the colder air mass, which is more than 40 years old on Friday morning and more than 70 years old on Friday afternoon. Behind the front, the northwest wind will bring colder air. After starting in the mid-1940s, although the sun is shining, Saturday afternoon will still struggle at the low of the 1960s. The coldest temperature so far this season is expected to drop to more than 30 degrees on Saturday night. Although not a pressing issue, some areas in the north, which are usually colder, may affect icing. Another weak forward will pass through Sunday night to keep the cool air for another day or so. By Tuesday, the upper low-pressure trough will rise to the northeast, and the surface high-pressure system will enter the southeastern United States. The warming of the upper layer and the movement of surface winds to the southeast will cause the temperature to become milder in the middle of the next week. The next cold front is expected to end next weekend. At this time, the depth of the relevant upper groove does not look as deep as the current one, so the temperature fluctuation should not be so large.
