Spantech Engineers Pvt. Co., Ltd. recently partnered with DRDO to install a 250 LPM oxygen generator plant at the Chiktan Community Health Center in Kargil.
The plant can support up to 50 patients with severe illness. The capacity of the plant will enable these 30 medical facilities to be fully self-reliant in terms of oxygen demand. Spantech Engineers also installed another 250 LPM oxygen generator at the Nubra Block Medical Center in CHC District.
Spantech Engineers Pvt. Co., Ltd. was commissioned by the National Defense Bioengineering and Electrical Measurement Generator Laboratory (DEBEL) of the DRDO Life Science Department to install 2 PSA factories to provide urgently needed medical oxygen supply areas and Lada for the Nubra Valley in Kargil and the high altitude areas of Chiktan Village gram.
During the COVID oxygen crisis, it is challenging to provide oxygen cylinders to remote areas such as Chitan Village. Therefore, DRDO's mission is to establish oxygen plants in remote areas of the country, especially near the border. These oxygen plants were developed by DRDO and funded by PM CARES. On October 7, 2021, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) opened almost all such factories.

Chiktan is a small border village, about 90 kilometers from Kargil town, with a population of less than 1,300 people. The village is located at an altitude of 10,500 feet, making it one of the most inaccessible areas in the country. Nubra Valley is a popular tourist destination in Kargil. Although the population is larger than Chikdan, the Nubra Valley is located at an altitude of 10,500 degrees, which makes logistics very difficult.
Now, Spantech oxygen generators have greatly reduced these hospitals’ reliance on oxygen cylinders, which are difficult to supply to these remote areas, especially during periods of shortage.
