No Man’s Sky update 4.000 is out now on all platforms, and this is for the big Waypoint Update 4.0. While this brings in the new “Relaxed” mode which is suited for people who want to explore, don’t expect any major new activities to be added. Read on for the No Man’s Sky October 7 patch notes.

Update: Official patch notes have been released by Hello Games!

USER INTERFACE AND QUALITY OF LIFE

The official patch notes haven’t been released yet, but Hello Games has talked about the patch before. This will bring a new “Relaxed” mode into the game, which will focus on exploration and less on surviving and grinding. There are also an overhauled Survival mode and tolls for custom games. Players can also expect 4.0 to make the tutorial more streamlined in terms of how it’s presented.

You can also check out some of the changes the community has noticed from testing the game:

New Items, Ships and Multitool rewards in 4.0 (context inside, please read) from NoMansSkyTheGame

New technology in Anomaly allows you to summon a rocket for selling things from NoMansSkyTheGame

Looks Like Storage Containers got A LOT Bigger. from NoMansSkyTheGame

They also changed A. Indium price… Why are they doing this to this magnificent game?? from NoMansSkyTheGame

Custom Game mode options are amazing! from NoMansSkyTheGame

Waypoint Inventory Changes are a step Backwards, & Tech Slots are Nerfed from NoMansSkyTheGame

There seems to be bugs brought on by the patch as well, such as items being lost, and upgrading your “new” exosuit is bugged too,

Same as always, once the official patch notes are out, we’ll update the post, so stay tuned!
