The CAPS Brumby screw air compressor series has been expanded to include variable speed technology models to significantly improve efficiency.

The CAPS Brumby screw air compressor series has now been expanded to include variable speed compressors to supplement the current fixed speed range. By choosing a compressor installed on the tank or a complete solution including a tank, dryer and filter, the CAPS Brumby series provides solutions to meet different air needs. The fixed speed and variable speed devices range in size from 5 to 15 kW.

Fixed speed vs. VSD-which option best suits your needs?

The operating modes of the two compressors are different. On fixed speed air compressors, the motor will run at a constant speed/fixed RPM. When there is a demand for air on the system, the intake valve will open and then close again when the demand disappears. Therefore, since the motor only runs at a fixed speed, it will always maintain a pressure 0.7 bar higher than the air demand. Variable speed drive compressors will use variable speed or VSD drives, which allow the motor to actually accelerate and decelerate, thereby saving power consumption. For the same end use, a properly sized VSD compressor can save up to 35% of power in some cases.

For any company, energy is always a major cost, and reducing energy consumption can save a lot of money. In addition to the variable motor speed during operation, the inverter in the VSD system performs a "soft" start operation by slowly increasing the motor speed, thereby reducing the high traction peaks that are common when starting a fixed speed motor. This also helps to protect electrical and mechanical components from the initial mechanical stresses that can shorten the life of the air compressor.

Therefore, when working overtime, choosing the variable speed option can save you up to 35% of your electricity costs, and it will also make your installation last longer and avoid downtime.

CAPS Brumby direct drive variable speed compressors are available in two configurations, mounted on the receiver (VX series) or mounted on the receiver with an oversized dryer and pre/post filter (CSVX series). This new design is tailored specifically for variable speed applications, providing energy efficiency and maximizing energy savings at a lower cost of ownership.

Additional air storage capacity can cope with peak air demand and longer cycle times

Most machines of this size are mounted on a 300-liter receiving tank. Not Bruby. Having a larger air tank ensures that you get a consistent flow of compressed air. Large air storage tanks can not only provide you with a consistent level of compressed air, but also reduce the time required for equipment loading-saving you a lot of energy costs!

Integrated refrigerated air dryer and filter pack

The Brumby complete solution package provides the ultimate air quality, equipped with a refrigerated dryer with electronic controller to monitor key parameters and a filter package to ensure effective removal of pollutants. This integrated design can protect your expensive pneumatic tools from damage and extend the overall life of compressed air equipment.

All our equipment is supported by your local CAPS service team, providing after-sales support to improve your energy efficiency, productivity and operations. No matter what you need, you will find that we only need a phone call to get any technical advice, support, products or parts.
