New Delhi: The Delhi government has invited applications for the establishment of a medical oxygen plant and the purchase of cryogenic tank trucks. At the beginning of this year, Delhi fought the brutal second wave of coronavirus, and oxygen shortages exacerbated the predicament.

In an announcement, the municipal government has invited applications for the establishment of liquid medical oxygen generators, non-capture cryogenic pressure swing adsorption (PSA)/air separation units (ASU), pressure swing adsorption devices for hospitals and nursing homes, and liquid storage facilities for use in hospitals. , Nursing homes and purchasing medical oxygen for cryogenic tankers. According to Delhi’s 2021 medical oxygen production promotion policy notified earlier this year, investors will be rewarded. The goal of the policy is to encourage early investment in production or storage infrastructure to ensure the completion of several targets for medical oxygen within a limited time, including the establishment of liquid oxygen (LOX) manufacturing facilities with a minimum of 50 tons and a maximum of 100 tons.

According to data shared by the city's health department, Delhi recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with a positive rate of 0.08%. The cumulative number of cases rose to 14,40,270. More than 14.14 million patients have recovered from the infection.
